A cross-platform terminal in Rust that treats organization as a core feature: tabs in named, colored, collapsible groups, split panes, and sessions that come back exactly as you left them.
Windows, macOS and Linux · Open source under GPL-3.0
Plenty of terminals already handle VT conformance well. Porecatu focuses on what comes after: keeping dozens of terminals easy to find.
Gather tabs into named, colored groups with Ctrl+Shift+G. Drag tabs between them, or collapse a group out of sight while its processes keep running.
Ctrl+Shift+D splits to the right, Ctrl+Shift+H below. Each pane has its own shell and scrollback, and Alt + arrows moves focus.
Shell, directory and branch at the bottom of the window. When the branch falls behind its remote, one click integrates it with pull --ff-only.
Every option in one window (Ctrl+Shift+O). Saving touches only the keys you changed in porecatu.toml, which also reloads live when edited by hand.
Regex search over the scrollback without resizing the terminal. Hyperlinks from tools like ls --hyperlink open with Ctrl+click.
A PNG or JPEG behind each terminal, behind the whole window, or both, with its own opacity and reloaded live. An acrylic effect is also available: the window image blurred behind the terminal, with an adjustable radius.
Declare ways to open a tab (program, arguments, directory) and pick one from the + button's right-click menu. Detected shells appear on their own, a badge marks the tab, and splitting a pane keeps its profile.
A server is a profile. An embedded client signs in with your agent, a key or a password, reconnects by itself when the link drops, and splits panes over the same connection. Import hosts from your ~/.ssh/config in one click.
Passwords and passphrases live only in your system keychain, saved after the server accepts them. Host keys are checked against the OpenSSH known_hosts, which is only ever appended to.
Native installers, built and tested automatically for each release.
